introduction
helping people to discover themselves through adventures in to the unknown
Inge Solheim is 37 years old and of Norwegian origin. Hailing from Otta, a small village nestled within a challenging landscape of towering peaks and icy glaciers, the spirit of adventure is truly in his blood.
After completing one year in the military, Inge worked as a successful stock broker. His strong spirit led him to leave behind city life however and go back to his adventure roots, founding his own company 'Storm Adventures'. Now with over 15 years experience guiding, exploring and consulting in the most extreme environments on the planet, Inge is one of the most noted and respected individuals in his field, with a host of credentials and achievements to his name.
From base-jumping off one of the lowest point ever attempted in Oslo, to flying fighter jets in Russia, to racing to the South Pole, Inge's extreme activities have never failed to be surrounded by media attention. Above and beyond this though, his philosophies and eternal optimism have proved to be a source of inspiration to all that know him.
In 2005 Inge's reputation as an expert in polar exploration reached the ears of the BBC, who approached him to coordinate and star in the popular series 'Blizzard', a reenactment of the historic 'Scott and Amundson' race to the pole. As the front runner for his team Inge brought that unmistakable spirit of adventure to the small screen, and did justice to the long Norwegian tradition of polar exploration.
Following the success of 'Blizzard', Inge worked both in front and behind the camera on a succession of popular productions, whilst continuing to travel to obscure and challenging destinations with clients. He provided logistics and expertise to Ben Fogle and James Cracknell for the television production 'On Thin Ice'. He continues to work with television series like '71 Degrees North', where he is responsible for all show contestant activities.
Recently, Inge was the expedition guide for 'Walking With The Wounded', a much publicized expedition to the North Pole with permanently injured soldiers in aid of wounded servicemen's charities. Inge was responsible for guiding 7 people including 4 amputees on a 4 week expedition. HRH Prince Harry joined the expedition for 5 days.
