Camels on the tower bridge

Saracens Rugby club today made UK history by officially unveiling their new mascots for the forthcoming Wembley season, a trio of purpose-bred racing camels. The morning was not without a squad injury though, with Darhan the racing Dromidary pulling a muscle and not being deemed fit to race.
In keeping with the Saracens mascot, a camel, the remaining duo of high octane racing camels today broke a world record for the fastest UK camel racing on Potters Field. With previous attempts at UK camel racing using traditional zoo animals, the trio of racing bloodline camels and their purpose trained jockeys sprinted the 75mt course in record time. Started by Saracens Winger Mike Tagicakibau and times by Saracens forward Tom Ryder the races were watched by over 1000 people. The winning camel, Sarah a Bactian Racing Camel, will now race at Wembley Stadium. Winning jockey Andy Probert (female) completed the 75mt dash in 17.00secs and boasted:
“I knew she could do it – We’re on our way to Wembley, I can’t believe it this is a dream come true. I am delighted to be pioneering camel racing with Saracens and simply can’t wait to go to Wembley. Sarah will get extra apples in her feed tonight”.
