Shaka Zulu Blessed
Shaka Zulu is the new stunning South African restaurant and lounge opening in a two-floored location in Stables market, Camden. The vibrant décor includes marble bars, carved wooden murals, beaded seats, a bronze statue presiding over the entrance.
Created on an unimaginable scale with a capacity of 840 guests, the venue includes a Cape Town inspired seafood bar and cocktail lounges on the mezzanine. Downstairs is a unique “Braai” where Executive Chef, Barry Vera, will prepare his favourite South African recipes, including Seared Ostrich, Marinated Springbok, “Zulu cabbage” as well as the Shaka Zulu signature dish ‘Karoo Lamb’, all served with matching wines from the UK’s largest selection of South African Wines.
In May, Barry Vera was joined by some traditional Zulu drummers who welcomed a Royal envoy sent by ruler of the Zulu Nation King Zwelthini. The envoy blessed Barry in traditional Zulu style by flicking animals blood ceremonially on his forehead.
