Kendal Mountain Festival
The World’s Leading Adventure Festival.
Kendal Mountain Festival began in the early 80s as an annual meet up for like-minded friends. In its current form, it has grown into one of the world’s biggest outdoor adventure festivals with visitors topping 13,000 and rising year on year. Kendal Mountain Festival lasts from Thursday evening to Sunday evening in late November, in the town of Kendal in the Lake District.
Thousands of outdoor enthusiasts plus media industry specialists, athletes, top brands & equipment manufacturers, artists, photographers, adventurers, explorers and inspirational speakers gather every year to share adventures and celebrate the very best in outdoor and adventure sports culture.
A bespoke programme of experts
Over 100 guest presenters, filmmakers, judges, panel participants, artists and creators.
Kendal Mountain Festival attracts a huge number of visitors due to its incredible line-up of inspirational talent. Beginning as a film festival, film still plays an integral part alongside workshops, lectures, readings, demos, parties, performances and more.
Each year strives to top the last with the latest stories of human endeavour and tales of the outdoors and adventure.
Basecamp Village is home to 60+ top level outdoor brands, each with their own space to create something special.
At the centre of the festival lies Basecamp Village – a cafe and event stage surrounded by hand-made wooden ‘pods’, each representing a space for brands to hold their own speaking events, workshops and activities. Throughout the weekend, a programme of free events plays across the Basecamp Village stage whilst brands have the freedom to connect with and entertain the festival audiences in any way they choose.
